On July 18th, the China Summer Bridge camp for US High School students went to visit the Xi An museum, an authentic Xi An restaurant, and the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. First, we rode a bus for 30 minutes to the Xi An museum. There we saw many beautiful sculptures and artifacts from Xi An. One of the most interesting exhibits was an exhibit about another group of terra cotta warriors built to defend a princess. Each soldier had his own name engraved by his feet, which means that the soldiers were modeled after real people. After the Xi An museum, the China Bridge group went to eat lunch at a very nice traditional Xi An restaurant in the Xi An hotel. There we tried many delicious Xi An dishes, including the Shangxi sandwich, cold noodles, and steamed dumplings. Once our stomachs were full, we traveled by bus for one hour to go to the Terra Cotta Warrior grave site! The Terra Cotta Warriors were fascinating. We were very excited to visit one of the eight wonders of the world! We were also able to practice our chinese bargaining skills with the local vendors. Overall, the China Bridge Summer camp's visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors was exciting and a great learning experience.
