Los Angeles : Visiting University of La Verne and disscussing curriculum of Bodi international class with a municipal councilman of Poly Pomona
¡¡¡¡On Aug., 13th, Liu paid her fifth visit of University of La Verne, which is located in Los Angeles, California and belongs to one of the oldest universities in American West. Liu met her old friend- Mr. Phillip Hofer and viewed the campus and new teaching building with the guide of Mr. Hofer. Mr. Hofer is also an old friend of Xi¡¯an Bodi School; he visited our school ten years ago and profound friendship was established between two schools; he once organized further education and other commnunicative activities for Bodi¡¯s teachers in USA. ¡¡¡¡After viewing the campus, Liu had a one-hour talk with Chris Krzak(dean of undergraduate students admission )and Dr. Jeffrey Nonemaker(dean of international students admission) on questions about Bodi graduates¡¯ application for studying in University of La Verne. Jeffrey introduced the new scholarship policy of University of La Verne to Liu; that is to offer 5,000 dollars to each Bodi students if he or she got 6.5 in the test of IELTS, which can hold a year¡¯s living and accommodation expenses in USA. ¡¡¡¡After leaving University of La Verne, Liu visited the city council of Poly Pomona and had lunch with councilman Stephen Atchley; during the lunch, Stephen asked Liu for some suggestions on the education communication bewteen Poly Pomona and China and gave some advice to the curriculum of Bodi international class. Stephen once worked in many universities of California as professor for nearly 30 years before he went into politics; he has plenty of experience both in higher education and basic education; now, he is mainly responsible for the education staff of the city council of Poly Pomona.

Introduction to University of La Verne
¡¡¡¡Located in La Verne California, the school was founded in 1891 by members of the Church of the Brethren. Originally named Lordsburg College, the school was renamed La Verne in 1917 and changed again in 1977 to the University of La Verne. Currently, the school has several colleges including business and public management, arts and sciences, law and education. A number of distance education degrees and classes are also available, including an online MBA degree, as well as online undergraduate degrees in public administration and organizational management. ¡¡¡¡The school conferred its first master's degree in 1965 and began an adult education program in 1969. La Verne awarded its first doctorate in 1979. In 1981, the University founded a campus in Orange County and has since opened campuses throughout central and southern California. The College of Law was founded in 1970 in Ontario, California and on February 13, 2006 was provisionally accredited by the American Bar Association, allowing students to take the bar exam and become practicing attorneys in any US jurisdiction. ¡¡¡¡The University of La Verne is an independent, nonsectarian and non-profit institution.
