On the afternoon of Nov,24th, 350 teachers and students from Nishiyamato Academy, Nara, Japan visited our school and had an enthusiastic and sincere communication with Bodi’s Senior High freshmen.
The communicative conference was held in Bodi’s Zhishan Dongliang Table Tennis Gym. The following officials or leaders attend this event:
Xi’an Education Bureau: Zheng Zhenguo-the inspector, Shi Jiankui- deputy director of Basic Education Department , Zhou Baoyuan- chief of office and Mr. Liang Zhong;
Yanta County Education Bureau: Sun E- deputy director general and Yang Zhenlong- deputy director of Basic Education Department;
Xi’an Bodi School: Liu Yubo- chair of board, Yang Fengyu- principal, Shi Xirong- sub-principal and Wang Xiaopeng-headmaster of Bodi Middle School;
Nishiyamato Academy: Qiao Zhua-instructor, Mr. Gang and Mr. Xi Tian.
First of all, school leaders from both China and Japan addressed short speeches ,which attached great importance to Sino-Japan friendship and recognized this kind of communication. Student representatives from both sides’ speeches expressed their wishes to continue this form of communication and thanks for the face-to-face talk chances supplied by the schools. After exchanging gifts, Zheng Zhenguo also gave a speech. He said:” This good form of communication should continue; it not only strengthens the cultural and educational communications between China and Japan, but also provides a platform for the educational co-operations of both sides.”
After the speeches, Chinese students and Japanese students communicated enthusiastically in groups on their study, ideals and goals. During the communications, gifts were exchanged and contact ways were given to each other; the students hoped to continue their communications after this activity. Simultaneously, teacher and student representatives from both schools planted a commemorative tree representing friendship. The highlight of this activity is students’ fantastic performances, such as Cherry Blossom(Chorus), Tage (Dance), Can Can (Orchestral Music) and Yulan Pot Dance
Bodi School has been paying much attention to international communications since its establishment. Bodi has been a sister school of Nishiyamato Academy for 15 years and 13 similar communicative activities had been carried out and over 3,000 Japanese students once visited Bodi. Our school has also organized many visits to Japan; principal Yang Fengyu had been to Nishiyamato Academy for three times, she was warmly welcomed by the Japanese counterpart and joined the events of founding anniversary, semester-opening ceremony and art festival.
Through this eye-opening activity, students from both sides knew better of each other’s culture, making new friends and increasing their knowledge. This also deepened the friendship between Bodi and Nishiyamato and promoted cultural and educational development of both schools.
