¡¡¡¡From July, 30th to Aug., 6th, Xi¡¯an Bodi School successfully received ten high school students from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This summer camp lasted for half a month, of which 7 days were spent in Shaanxi province. American students¡¯ activities in Shaanxi were organized by the teachers from Bodi and accompanied by these teachers and Bodi international class students. During the 7 days, both countries¡¯ students got more information about Eastern and Western cultures and profound friendships were established between them. ¡¡¡¡This summer camp¡¯s aim was to improve students¡¯ capabilities on leadership and organizing, American students knew Chinese culture better and learned some Chinese through this camp. American students also donated 15,000 books to the earthquake striken areas of Sichuan, Xi¡¯an University of Arts and Science and Xi¡¯an Bodi School. All of the books were collected by the ten American students and shipping freight was earned by doing part-time jobs. On Aug.4th, a simple but solemn denoting ceremony was held in Xi¡¯an Bodi School¡¯s Yun Enfeng Art Center, Chinese students were deeply moved by American students¡¯ good deeds and wanted to learn from them. ¡¡¡¡Besides, Bodi¡¯ s international class students invited American students to visit their homes; this made American students know better about Chinese family life. Through this summer camp, friendship beteen American students and Chinese students was greatly improved and Chinese students knew more about US culture and practiced their oral English, which is helpful to their future oversea study.
